Four kibbutzs along the road from Jerusalem to Hevron were in the center of battles in the War for Independence. 250 defenders were killed during severe battles. Izhak Rabin compared these battles with Mazada struggle. The sons of Azion?s defenders returned to the settlement in 1967. The history of this heroic period is on the museum?s displays.
