Underground Prisoners Museum

Address: Mishol Hagevura St. 1, Jerusalem
Phone: 972-2-6233166

The building was built in 1858, and served as a Russian pilgrims? hospice for women. During the British mandate in Palestine (1918-1948), the building was used as the central prison. Apart from criminal prisoners, hundreds of Jewish underground fighters were imprisoned there, members of Haganah, Irgun and Lechi (the Stern Group). The exhibits depict life in the prison, tell the stories of the underground groups and their members, and perpetuate the memory of those who were executed in the prison by the British.
